What are ways to get a manufacturer for your online business but not have a huge order at the beginning?

Call manufacturers and get familiar with their production cycles. Sometimes you can through your order in and a better price because its better for them to keep factories going all year long.

Some things to ask yourself:

1. Will you be producing as the order is placed? Or are you purchasing inventory upfront.
2. Are you creating seasonal products with a high turn? Or basics with lower turns.
3. Factory sharing. Is your item unique? i.e. a sweater with 3 arms or are you screen printing on t-shirts. You may be able to share resources if your products rely heavily on branding and not design.
